The main objective of the present work was to verify which are the duties of a pharmacist in a community pharmacy and if these duties are performed. For this, initially, a survey of the information inherent to the attributions was carried out, being divided into two spheres: administrative attributions and pharmaceutical care attributions. This is a qualitative case study approaching exploratory. Data were collected from a document analysis combined with observations by the author, and obtained in the community pharmacy analyzed. The information collected resulted in the completion of a checklist that guides the performance of assignments. The lack of home pharmaceutical care services, pharmacotherapeutic monitoring and drug fractionation was found, each service has its importance in promoting health for the population and the lack of these can jeopardize the objective of the community pharmacy. After analyzing the data, it is possible to see the great importance of knowing the functions of the pharmacist in a community pharmacy, where it was found that the pharmacist is responsible for performing several vital tasks in promoting health for the population. Farmácia comunitária é estabelecimento de saúde de propriedade privada para realização de atendimento primário à população que vem a destacar a importância do profissional farmacêutico. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo principal verificar quais são as atribuições de um profissional farmacêutico em uma farmácia comunitária e se estas atribuições são executadas. Para tal inicialmente realizou-se levantamento das informações inerentes as atribuições, estando divididas e duas esferas: atribuições administrativas e atribuições de cuidados farmacêuticos. Trata-se de um estudo de caso de natureza qualitativa aproximando-se do exploratório. Os dados foram levantados a partir de uma análise documental aliada a observações por parte do autor, e obtidos na própria farmácia comunitária analisada. As informações coletadas resultaram no preenchimento de um checklist que vem a nortear sobre a execução das atribuições. Foi constatada a falta dos serviços de atendimento farmacêutico domiciliar, acompanhamento farmacoterapêutico e fracionamento de medicamentos, cada serviço tem sua importância na promoção da saúde para população e a falta destes pode por em risco o objetivo da farmácia comunitária.
