Resumo:Objective: To assess nurses' knowledge in the interpretation of electrocardiograms, justified by the need to identify how professionals deal in emergency situations. Method: This is an integrative literature review of studies, where 7 studies were analyzed. The search for data took place in July 2020, in the following databases: Lilacs (Latin American Literature in Health Sciences); Medline (Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online); Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online); consulted through the website of the VHL (Virtual Health Library). Results: It was evidenced in the research that most nurses can identify the rhythms of a cardiorespiratory arrest, but few can identify other abnormalities, such as Acute Myocardial Infarction. A factor that proved to be important in the knowledge of professionals was their area of expertise. Conclusion: Nurses have an important role in assisting patients with signs of coronary changes, and knowledge of an electrocardiogram will advance care and reduce possible damage.
