For this, we will make a relation with areas and volumes of geometric figures, in particular - for their practicality, because we will deal with Basic Education - the rectangle and the right rectangular prism. We discuss the algebraic definitions and propositions of polynomials, as well as the definitions of areas of rectangles and volumes of parallelepipeds, and then correlate both approaches.In addition, we have included a suggestion for a ludic activity to be applied in an 8th grade class of elementary school, so that it demonstrates the efficiency of using geometry in teaching polynomials in the classroom, I.e, that through geometry, the 8th graders students understand them and know how to operate them. Ao estudarmos a História da Matemática, vemos que os problemas eram interpretados e tratados por meio da geometria, já que toda a economia na antiguidade era concentrada na agricultura: divisão de terras, distância entre locais, preço de terrenos, etc. Desse modo, vemos útil a recuperação da abordagem geométrica em diversos conteúdos matemáticos, dentre os quais trouxemos como tema os polinômios de 1º, 2º e 3º graus.A presente dissertação traz uma sugestão para professores de matemática de como abordar o estudo dos polinômios no ensino fundamental de maneira geométrica. Para tanto faremos uma relação com áreas e volumes de figuras geométricas, em especial - pela praticidade, porque trataremos do Ensino Básico - do retângulo e do prisma retangular reto. Discorremos sobre as definições e proposições algébricas dos polinômios, bem como das definições de áreas dos retângulos e volumes dos paralelepípedos, para então correlacionarmos as duas abordagens.Ademais, incluímos uma sugestão de atividade lúdica para ser aplicada numa turma do 8º ano do ensino fundamental, de modo que esta demonstre a eficiência da utilização da geometria no ensino dos polinômios em sala da aula, ou seja, que por meio da geometria, os alunos do 8º ano os compreendam e saibam operá-los. 2021-11-09T18:49:24Z 2021-11-09T18:49:24Z 2021-07-22 masterThesis SILVA, Lucylla Medeiros da.
