The research uses the quantitative method in tabulating the data provided by the Comex stat website, a federal government website, which was the support of our work with fruit export data. The methodology of this work also uses the qualitative method, when we focus on books, websites, magazines and articles, which gave us the basis for the construction of our theoretical framework. We can highlight that although the region under study has 9 municipalities (São Rafael, Açu, Ipanguaçu, Jucurutu, Itajai, Porto do Mangue, Alto dos Rodrigues, Pendências and Carnaúbas), only Ipanguaçu and Açu stand out in the period as two major fruit exporters in the region. During the Coronavirus pandemic, despite the economic decline of some regions of the state, the Açu Valley even had economic gains, and continued exporting to several countries. However, these gains are due to the municipality of Ipanguaçu, while Açu had significant losses. Neste trabalho, observamos a evolução da exportação da fruticultura irrigada no biênio 2019 – 2020 na região do Vale do Açu (RN), considerando a disseminação do COVID-19, resultando inclusive na interrupção de algumas atividades econômicas para a contenção da pandemia. A pesquisa utilizou o método quantitativo na tabulação dos dados fornecidos pelo site Comex stat, site do governo federal, que foi o suporte do nosso trabalho com os dados de exportação de frutas. A metodologia deste trabalho também recorre ao método qualitativo, quando nos debruçamos em livros, sites, revistas e artigos, que nos deram embasamento para a construção do nosso referencial teórico. Podemos destacar que apesar da região em estudo possuir 9 municípios (São Rafael, Açu, Ipanguaçu, Jucurutu, Itajaí, Porto do Mangue, Alto dos Rodrigues, Pendências e Carnaúbas), destacam-se no período somente Ipanguaçu e Açu como dois grandes exportadores de frutas na região. Durante a pandemia do Coronavírus, apesar do declínio econômico de algumas regiões do estado, o Vale do Açu teve mesmo ganhos econômicos, e continuou exportando para vários países.
