| Resumo: | The present work refers to an intervention that has been carried out from the Specialization
Course in Obstetric Nursing III – Rede Cegonha. In order to define a problematic, it took into
account the mapping of gaps in the midwifery in the Maternity Leide Morais playing field of
Specialization rapporteur presented the intervention. Thus, the scarcity of nonpharmacological
measures for the relief of pain at childbirth was presented as an important
possible point to be approached and modified through intervention in the service. Nonpharmacological
methods are considered important for relieving parturient pain, fears and
distress, reducing stress caused by the parturition process, as well as providing comfort and
well-being to women during labor until the concept arrives. The non-pharmacological
measure chosen for the intervention presented was aromatherapy massage in labor. The
methodological strategies began in October 2018 extending to November 2018 with the
sensitization of the managers. Subsequently, the professionals were sensitized in the months
of November and December of 2018, focusing on the implementation of aromatherapy
massage in labor and delivery by the health team, especially the nursing team. The
qualification of the professionals took place in January and February 2019 through an
Extension Course carried out at Leide Morais Maternity, where there was theoretical and
practical exposition of the theme of massage with aromatherapy and in the sequence it was
provided practice in the study room between the participants of the Course. The
implementation of the practice of massage with aromatherapy started from January 2019
through the training and will occur continuously because it is a slow, constant process and, as
something new, requires more time and dedication to insert routine so that the whole nursing
team feels safe and offers the service to the usual risk-taking parturients. As a result of the
intervention project it is already possible to highlight the performance of some nursing
professionals in the PPP suite, according to their availability, in the practice of aromatherapy
massage. It is also perceived that with this awareness, there was a greater interest of the team
as a whole to know, to learn, to act and to execute the non-pharmacological method proposed
in the intervention. In addition, it should be pointed out that the intervention presented by the
medical professionals was an important repercussion, since it was in the interest of an
obstetrician medical professional to develop a quantitative and qualitative approach in the
near future in partnership with the special rapporteur of this report. |
