Resumo: | Skin-to-skin contact and breastfeeding in the first hour of life are recognized globally as
strategies that help prolong breastfeeding and reduce maternal as also child morbidity and
mortality rates, as well as providing substantial gains to women, aiding in uterine and
preventing diseases. such as breast and ovarian cancer and, at the same time, provides the
nutrients needed for neonatal development. In this sense, the purpose of this intervention was
to implement first-time breastfeeding in a public maternity hospital in the state of Rio Grande
do Norte. Methodological tools for this purpose were chosen for the purpose of conversation,
sensitization of managers and multiprofessional team on the relevance of the initiative to help
achieve what the Rede Cegonha and the Incentivo Hospital Amigo da Criança, associated with
implantation of a Standard Operating Procedure that regulates the practice of first-hour
breastfeeding in the unit. To date, the phase of sensitization and presentation of Standard
Operational Procedure has been completed, as well as a registry of quantification and
registration of newborns breastfed in the first hour. It is hoped that the Standard Operating
Procedure will be submitted for review and revision for subsequent implantation in the routine
of the institution, with the perspective of humanization of the care and expansion of the benefits
that early breastfeeding provides the mother / child dyad. |
