Resumo:The high-risk pregnancies are those that have a considerable potential to suffer life-threatening or damage to their maternal and / or child health. Ensuring adequate prenatal care and the humanization of care for pregnant women are basic goals to be achieved by health professionals and services. The psychologist is one of the professionals who make up the multiprofessional team of care for high-risk pregnant women, who have specific techniques and whose main axis is psychological prenatal care, which is configured as personalized psychoprophylactic and psychotherapeutic assistance. This study aims to describe the practices adopted by the psychologist for the qualification of the High Risk Psychological Prenatal (HRPP) actions in a municipal hospital in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte. For this, a participative research was carried out, of a descriptive type and of qualitative nature. The presentation of the practices adopted by the psychologist in the high-risk prenatal service are described in five stages: identification of partners; available physical structure; identification of demand and establishment of the flow for assistance; construction of service protocols; and, technical-scientific procedures adopted. In the end, it was found that the implementation of a psychological assistance service is a challenging and dynamic job for its creators and requires constant evaluation during its trajectory in order to make the necessary changes, identifying weaknesses and potentialities, in an attempt to guarantee the reach of your goals. The support that HRPP offers to pregnant women who present some psychosocial risk helps in psychic and emotional reorganization to face the situations of vulnerability that directly influence the experience of the pregnancy-puerperal cycle.
