Introduction: Integrative and complementary practices in health seek to stimulate the natural mechanisms of disease prevention and health recovery through effective and safe technologies, attested from traditional use and that can be associated with conventional biomedical therapies. These practices were made official in 2006 through the National Policy for Integrative and Complementary Practices. In 2006, the National Policy on Medicinal Plants and Phytotherapeutic was also institutionalized, which seeks to ensure the safe and rational access of medicinal and phytotherapeutic plants to users, facilitating their insertion in health services. Although this practice is well accepted and adopted, especially in the Seridó region of Rio Grande do Norte, it is difficult to include it in health services, due to factors such as the lack of knowledge of professionals. Objective: This research aims to report an experience, systematically describing the realization of a Medicinal Plants and Phytotherapy Workshop for teams of Basic Health Units in Caicó, RN. Methodology: The workshop, named “A cup of health and a spoon of care” will have its execution reported, from the previous organization, going through the stages of implementation and evaluation of the experience.Results: After realizing the need for the workshop to be held by the professionals of the Basic Health Units, the planning and study period took place, where the theoretical support was raised and the points to be addressed were selected, besides the elaboration of a Banner containing the most used medicinal plants in the region, along with the indications and method of preparation, so that it could be exposed to users. The execution was carried out with the entire team of five Family Health Strategies, in a format of conversation wheel and spaces for discussion and exchange of experience, as well as the participation of some community users, who have a dense knowledge in this area. Conclusion: Positive impacts were observed for the team of executing residents and teams of the Basic Health Units, regarding the increase and deepening of knowledge about the theme, and the users, from the production of the banner and the greater knowledge of the team to the best guidance, and alert to the possibility of offering new services. |

Introdução: As Práticas integrativas e complementares em saúde buscam estimular os mecanismos naturais de prevenção de agravos e recuperação da saúde através de tecnologias eficazes e seguras, atestadas a partir do uso tradicional e que podem ser associadas às terapias biomédicas convencionais. Essas práticas foram oficializadas em 2006 através da Política Nacional de Práticas Integrativas e Complementares. Em 2006 também foi institucionalizada a Política Nacional de Plantas Medicinais e Fitoterápicos, que busca garantir o acesso seguro e racional das plantas medicinais e fitoterápicos aos usuários, facilitando sua inserção nos serviços de saúde. Embora essa prática seja bem aceita e adotada, principalmente na região do Seridó no Rio Grande do Norte, há dificuldade de inseri-la nos serviços de saúde, por fatores como a falta de conhecimento dos profissionais. Objetivo: Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo relatar uma experiência, descrevendo a realização de uma Oficina de Plantas Medicinais e Fitoterapia para equipes de Unidades Básicas de Saúde no município de Caicó, RN. Metodologia: A oficina, que recebeu o nome de “Uma xícara de saúde e uma colher de cuidado” terá a sua execução relatada, desde a organização prévia, perpassando pelos estágios de implantação e avaliação da experiência. Resultados: Após ser percebida a necessidade da realização da oficina por parte dos profissionais das Unidades Básicas de Saúde, ocorreu o período de planejamento e estudo, quando foi levantado o aporte teórico e selecionado os pontos a serem abordados, além da elaboração de um Banner contendo as plantas medicinais mais utilizadas na região, junto às indicações e modo de preparo, para que pudesse ficar exposto aos usuários. A execução foi realizada junto a toda equipe de cinco Estratégias de Saúde da Família, num formato de roda de conversa e espaços para discussão e troca de experiência, além da participação de algumas usuárias da comunidade, detentoras de um denso conhecimento nessa área.
