Resumo:Based on the limitations of the biomedical model in responding to the population's illness process, ICP appear in the context of NHS to guarantee transversal and comprehensive care for the subjects. These practices encourage self-care and bonding, presenting themselves as empowering forces to change the dynamics of care in health services, especially in Primary Health Care. Justification: The municipality of Currais Novos, located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, despite having a high demand for hospital-centered and medication health care, shows great potential for the insertion of practices that promote transversal and horizontalized care, since it has a history of ICP in some health services. There is also the need for further studies on the implementation of ICP in PHC. Methodology: This is a qualitative study, which used semi-structured interviews carried out from May 2020 to January 2021 with the FHS coordinators and Residents in their last year of practice (R2), totaling 18 respondents. Then, there was the transcription of the speeches, thematic analysis and categorization of ideas. Objective: To evaluate the perception of Primary Care professionals about the ICP offered in the city of Currais Novos. Results and discussion: The perception of professionals about ICP is still closely linked to the mechanisms of biomedicine, despite recognizing the importance of practices in breaking this model. The professionals did not know how to specify the fields of practice and practices offered in the TERAPICS space. There is interest on the part of them in qualifying for ICP, but the offer of training by the municipality is scarce. Conclusion: ICP have great potential for dissemination in the city studied, but there is a lack of planning of actions, communication and engagement of managers in the implementation of ICP.
