As a methodological proceure it was used a qualitative and documentary approach. Based on data collected and analyzed in order to be detected by the municipal public power they did several actions for the development of the tourism activity inside of the city and with this way a lot of tourism companies came to consolidated in Santa Cruz City. O presente trabalho investigou como o poder público municipal contribuiu para o desenvolvimento do turismo religioso na cidade de Santa Cruz-RN. Para tanto, foi feito o levantamento das obras realizadas pelo o poder público municipal por meio da Secretaria Municipal de Obras e Transportes Públicos e da Secretaria Municipal de Turismo e Desenvolvimento Econômico. Como procedimento metodológico foi adotado a abordagem qualitativa e documental.
