Resumo:With the intensification of competition and the increasing demands of organizations, it is necessary to count on increasingly motivated professionals and the alignment between individual and organizational objectives, considering that the studies developed in this regard indicate that such aspects impact performance and consequently productivity achieved. In this context, the present study aims to identify the factors that influence the motivation of employees of the Administration Secretariat of the Municipality of Currais Novos, contemplating a comparative approach with respect to the changes resulting from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and the changes in this scenario concerning motivation. The research methodology fits into quantitative and qualitative, of a descriptive nature and is delimited as a Case Study. The survey was applied to 31 employees from 13 sectors linked to the Secretariat, using as a tool a questionnaire with questions measured by the Likert scale. Data were tabulated with the aid of Microsoft Office Excel and subjective responses were treated by content analysis. As a result, the study reveals that the motivating factors “responsibility, professional development, liking what you do and the relevance of work for society” and the hygienic factors “relationship with co-workers” are the ones that most influence and contribute to the motivation at work, leading to the conclusion that individuals work driven mainly by personal reasons. However, they are discouraged and dissatisfied with the hygienic factors "remuneration, communication and physical facilities" and the motivational factor "recognition". In addition, the suggestions for actions most cited by workers as motivators in the short term were recognition, the adoption of security measures necessary to combat the new coronavirus and training. For the post-pandemic period, they suggested courses, improvement in working conditions and the promotion of well-being. It is concluded that the greatest desires of the respondents are guided by motivational and unhygienic factors.
