| Resumo: | We witnessed with a look increasingly worrying, the results of socio-environment crisis, whose triggering occur according to the model of interaction established among the man and the nature. We realized the relevance of such implications, when we come across with the intensity and speed of propagation of anthropic activities about the environments, whose repercussion have corroborated significantly in environments causes, once that such processes, have contributed by adversely affect a big amplitude of environments whether these are terrestrial or aquatics. Among the anthropic actions, the consumer behavior show specially concern. Conspicuous consumption is the visible behavior, susceptible of statement of status in front of another. This behavior is expressed in the form of purchase and possession in use of products and services whose motivation is the communication of a distinct image to the other. In turn, sustainable consumption is conceived as ecological awareness in the purchase of the products and services, not wasting of resource and the usual attitude of the recycling of materials and products seeking as last purpose, the minimizing of the consumer behavior. The Evolutionary Psychology provide theoretical conceptions about of human mind, in which as of basic principles related with the idea Darwinist’s of natural selection and sexual, involve a different perspective when analyze the process behavioral human in front of consumption in actuality, provide significant insights for your better understanding. The current research is of quantitative character descriptive, whole data collection occurred through of the application of questionnaire structured type on students of Ecology course from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte - UFRN. The results corroborated with the expected from research that the students of Ecology demonstrate low tendency to the conspicuous consumption. However, although report a low tendency, was found a negative correlation signficant between conspicuous consumption and the factor resource economics. These findings suggest the existence of a parallel among the conspicuous posture and the hypothesis of costly signaling in which the individuals seek to display your indicators of fitness for the acquisition of a social status. |
