Resumo:The present work proposes the construction of a low cost box type oven from alternative materials. Its viability, durability, maintenance, final cost and ease of transportation were evaluated when compared to a conventional oven (that uses Liquefied Petroleum Gas - LPG). This prevents excessive burning of fuels that cause an increase in the greenhouse effect (firewood or LPG). Some of these fuels are often inaccessible to some low-income families. This project aims to serve the needy communities, which is a process of ecologically correct and economically viable solution, and may even become a way of generating income for these poor communities. In the present work, the processes of manufacture and assembly of the furnace, thermal efficiency and showing its ease of manufacture and its easy handling are presented The results obtained in the preparation time in relation to the conventional oven, with and without load, were compared. These results showed a great efficiency both in the preparation of food and in the preparation time, guaranteeing its technical viability.
