Resumo:This work intends to evaluate the internal gradient of plasma sintering temperature of 316L stainless steel. Owing to the plasma sintering occur by the ions and particles bombardment on the material, the internal gradient of temperature was studied changing the termopar to different heights in the 316L steel specimen. To this study, 316L stainless steel samples was used, whereupon 5g of this PÓ was compact by 500MPa pressure, in a 15mm former. The final heights was 5mm. So, different heights of termopar was used to measurement the internal temperature: 1mm from the top surface (closer to the plasma), 3mm from the top (sample middle) and in the lower surface. The assays was planned as pattern working current of 0.9A, as the pressure of 1,3mBar. The argon flow and the voltage was changing according the system adjust to keep the current and pressure as pattern. Soon the assay current was stabilized in 0,9A, the temperature was measurement every 5min, during 30min. The results confirm the heating gradient of the samples. The optical microscopy and Vickers microhardness showed some points reached sufficient temperature to generation of liquid phase. Furthermore, it’s evident even the parts that don’t have the formation of liquid phase, the sample was effectively sintered.
