This work is about Reliability Centered Maintenance, which is a technique whose overall objective is to reduce the cost of living of its assets, this is to reduce costs with maintenance activity, increasing their availability and reliability, and having as main objective the preservation of the function of its components. The work makes a literature review available in the literature, in order to build a knowledge base so that the technique under study is applied. The work deals with the use of essential tools for the application of maintenance focused on reliability: selection of the system and information collection, analysis of the mode of effects and failures, selection of the reliability model that best suits the data set and selection of activities to eliminate fault modes. A manutenção é um dos principais processos que ocorre na indústria, pois o uso eficaz da mesma possibilita uma grande economia em relação a custo a relacionado a troca e substituição dos equipamentos. O presente trabalho trata-se da Manutenção Centrada na Confiabilidade que é uma técnica que tem como objetivo global a diminuição de custo de vida dos seus ativos, isso é diminuindo os custos com atividade manutenção, com o aumento a disponibilidade e a confiabilidade dos mesmos, e tendo como o principal objetivo a preservação da função de seus componentes. O trabalho faz uma revisão bibliográfica disponível na literatura, afim de construir uma base de conhecimento para que assim seja aplicada a técnica em estudo.
