| Resumo: | The public schools are challenged to do a quality education, since each day problems arise
in the student of public education. Data Mining Uncovers Knowledge in a Database. Data mining
by discovering knowledge in a database can be applied in education, allowing management and
pedagogical coordination to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process. This paper
presents a study in a public school, using mining techniques to identify student profiles. As
part of the theoretical references, we have studied concepts about school learning, data mining,
its techniques and algorithms, as well as the search of works related to the theme, where we
choose the WEKA tool to apply the association technique in the data set, provide by the school
where the research was applied. The data obtained by the school and converted into the format
required by WEKA, applying the mining technique. Results were significantly achieved through
data provided for external and internal evaluations of the school, revealing information that was
unnoticed and important for better student learning. |
