During this evolutionary course the citizen fought for his political rights, consequently by their participation in the conduct of the public thing, your right to vote and to be voted. Thus, a brief analysis will be developed on the importance of political rights, of its evolution and of the current electoral reforms. Este trabalho apresenta uma análise sobre a evolução dos direitos políticos do Brasil desde o período colonial até as últimas reformas eleitorais nos dias atuais. O país passou por longos períodos de instabilidade dos direitos políticos, ocorrendo constantes progressos e retrocessos, mudanças que moldaram o nosso sistema eleitoral atual. Durante esse percurso evolutivo a sociedade lutou por seus direitos políticos, consequentemente por sua participação na condução da coisa pública, seu direito de votar e ser votado.
