Resumo:The main focus of this work is to emphasize the importance of activities mathematical concepts to children's play in early childhood education, showing their importance and discovering how we use them in everyday life, as well as understanding that through play games, directed activities can be carried out for the learning of Mathematics, aiming to contribute to the development of cognitive skills. Through the research carried out, it was observed that the child is able to communicate mathematically and, according to the evolution of each stage, is able to solve problems and make increasingly complex reflections, also highlighting the role of the teacher as a mediator that can influence students with elaborate activities that will help achieve the expected goal. In the methodology studied, a review of results obtained in researches was carried out, demonstrating that the child, the main agent of this learning process, develops through activities and games that stimulate his logical-mathematical thinking.
