Based on this assumption, the elaboration of this work emerged from the experiences shared during the paid internship in the City Hall of the city of Currais Novos, in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte. In this sense, this experience report is extremely important so that we can know how to organize and function adaptation in early childhood education, reflecting on the pedagogical practice and its role in the various educational contexts, identifying the difficulties and possibilities of action of the pedagogue For this, it was necessary to combine the data collected in the field of research with the theoretical concepts, adopted as methodological procedure the accomplishment of a qualifying research, without interest to expose the institution, students and parents interviewed. For the construction of this work, we identified as main interlocutors the following authors: DAVINI (1999), BORGES (2002), ROSSETI–FERREIRA (2005), GOLDSCHMIED (2006), PEREIRA (2011). O presente trabalho tem como finalidade compreender na prática como funciona a adaptação das crianças nas creches de 0 a 3 anos de idade, em uma instituição de educação infantil pública e a relação com o ambiente familiar. Partindo desse pressuposto, a elaboração desse trabalho surgiu a partir das experiências compartilhadas durante o Estágio remunerado na Prefeitura Municipal da cidade de Currais Novos, interior do Rio Grande do Norte. Nesse sentido, o referido relato de experiência é de extrema importância para que pudéssemos conhecer como se organiza e funciona adaptação na educação infantil, fazendo uma reflexão sobre a prática pedagógica e o seu papel nos diversos contextos educativos, identificando as dificuldades e possibilidades de atuação do pedagogo. Para isso, se fez necessário aliar os dados coletados no campo de pesquisa aos conceitos teóricos, adotamos como procedimento metodológico a realização de uma pesquisa qualificativa, sem interesse de expor a instituição, alunos e pais entrevistados.
