Resumo:The present work aims to understand in practice how the adaptation of children in kindergartens from 0 to 3 years of age in a public early childhood institution and the relationship with the family environment works. Based on this assumption, the elaboration of this work emerged from the experiences shared during the paid internship in the City Hall of the city of Currais Novos, in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte. In this sense, this experience report is extremely important so that we can know how to organize and function adaptation in early childhood education, reflecting on the pedagogical practice and its role in the various educational contexts, identifying the difficulties and possibilities of action of the pedagogue For this, it was necessary to combine the data collected in the field of research with the theoretical concepts, adopted as methodological procedure the accomplishment of a qualifying research, without interest to expose the institution, students and parents interviewed. For the construction of this work, we identified as main interlocutors the following authors: DAVINI (1999), BORGES (2002), ROSSETI–FERREIRA (2005), GOLDSCHMIED (2006), PEREIRA (2011).
