Resumo:This article aims to describe the importance of the partnership between families and school in the process of development of children's learning. Thus, it is intended to reflect on the participation of families in the school environment, as well as to verify the specificity of each institution, family and school in the life of a child, and to certify the importance of family participation in the daily school life of their children. In order to achieve this objective, the study used as a methodological tool a bibliographic survey, in addition to this documentary sources were used with legal basis, such as: Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil, and The Statute of the Child and Adolescent. From the theoretical study, two points of discussion emerged: The role of family and school in learning as a necessary approximation, and The importance of family participation in school. These results showed that the partnership between the family and the school is of fundamental importance, since both have responsibilities in common, to form critical citizens, reflective and aware of their rights and duties, since the family constitutes one of the main pillars within this relationship between school and learning, which becomes strong when it plays its fundamental role in the education of its offspring.
