For that, a bibliographical research was carried out of which we used books and articles that approach the studied subject. The research is based on authors such as Bettelheim (2002), Corso (2007), Abramovich (1995), Coelho (2003, 2005) and Calvino (1993). We conclude that affectivity is present in children's literature, and that they help the educator to work in a variety of ways, as it assists students in emotional and cognitive development, and awakens creativity, autonomy and criticality for the formation of personal character. O presente artigo foi desenvolvido com a finalidade de responder a seguinte questão: “como os contos clássicos abordam o tema da afetividade e de que forma ajudam o professor a trabalhar o afeto em sala de aula?”, através dessa questão foi feita a analise de dois contos: O patinho feio e Cinderela. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica da qual utilizamos livros e artigos que abordam o tema estudado. A pesquisa está embasada em autores como Bettelheim (2002), Corso (2007), Abramovich (1995), Coelho (2003, 2005) e Calvino (1993).
