Resumo:This article was developed with the purpose of answering the following question: "how do classic stories address the theme of affectivity and how do they help the teacher to work affection in the classroom?", Through this question was made the analysis of Two tales: The Ugly Duckling and Cinderella. For that, a bibliographical research was carried out of which we used books and articles that approach the studied subject. The research is based on authors such as Bettelheim (2002), Corso (2007), Abramovich (1995), Coelho (2003, 2005) and Calvino (1993). We conclude that affectivity is present in children's literature, and that they help the educator to work in a variety of ways, as it assists students in emotional and cognitive development, and awakens creativity, autonomy and criticality for the formation of personal character.
