Resumo: | A current reflection on teaching practice brings up a series of challenges that teachers need to overcome in order to promote quality education. The study carried out in this article aims to present and discuss the main challenges currently faced by teachers, analyzing which of these challenges are present in the daily life of teachers from the initial years of two schools in the municipality of Martins, Rio Grande do Norte: Raimunda Educational Center Barreto and the Almino Afonso State School. To perform it, a bibliographical review of studies already carried out that approached this theme was carried out, thus elaborating a theoretical framework capable of supporting the study. Soon after a series of interviews with the five professors of the initial years that they taught in the schools described above were realized. The results show that teachers in the city of Martins find challenges similar to those found by other Brazilian teachers: devaluation of the profession, lack of discipline of students, overcrowding of classrooms, absence of family in school, among others. However, such teachers always seek strategies to overcome such challenges and always offer the best possible education for the children of the municipality of Martins. |
