Resumo:This article aims to reflect on the contributions of children's literature in the development of the student, highlighting its historical, cultural and social rele-vâncias in the pedagogical context of the classroom, emphasizing its power of motivation, socialization and encouragement readings practices to. The methodology used was a field research associated with the literature, based on theoretical as Carvalho (1989), (2012), Fernandes (2012), Freire (1989), Gregorin (2009), Oliveira (1989) (2005 ) and PCN (1998), which allowed us to infer that the interviewed teachers consider important to work with the Children's Literature for cognitive, affective and social development of its students.
