Resumo:This article aims to present a guiding vision of literacy and literacy in adult education, seeking to present references and reports of teacher object of observation, analyzing literature and comparing it to reality found. This article was written by a parallel literature review to the case study in a school of public schools in the municipality of Logradouro/PB, trying to achieve a diversified approach on the subject. The EJA is a form of differentiated education, aimed at young people and adults who have had their right to regular education "stolen" by several factors and seeking through a late education is literacy and better their life in society. Also, they seek a personal achievement and gradually professional, as they understand that illiteracy comprises a process of social exclusion. Understand the teaching of EJA and seek methodologies that are appropriate to education is a priority of teachers and schools that provide such a crucial role for society, and especially for students. Search analyze the facts and understand the perspectives of various educational scholars is important because it brings a diverse view of the teaching process and improves planning and knowledge of the teaching staff.
