Resumo:This article shows the importance of teacher to do the probing test in the alphabetization process. Knowing the relevance of the studies of the psychogenesis of the writing language to mediate the work of the teacher, was proposed to investigate and analyze the levels of writing presented by learners at Escola Estadual Vicente de Fontes in José da Penha – RN. So, the corpus of the mentioned research is the spontaneous writing of ten students, in phase of alphabetization, enrolled in the Elementary School I. It is a descriptive and qualitative research and it is based theoretically by Ferreiro e Teberosky (1985), Ferreiro (1995) and Morais (2012). Therefore, it was verified that there are children with advanced age and that still are in writing event lower its age, requiring of the interventions of the teacher to do to advance in the process of alphabetization and literacy
