Objective also, to analyze the role of the family and the school in the formation of an critical reader through affection ano motivation as well as the situations of reading proposals in classroom and the school. Believing that the reading is an essential tool in anyone's life, indispensable support for the proposal is working. The work was developed from the study of reading some authors like Freire (1998), Jolibert (1991), Silva (1987), Teberosky (2003) among others, who have given us to expound on the topic above bounded as the development work. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo realizar uma reflexão acerca da importância da leitura no processo de ensino e aprendizagem nos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental e a contribuição para o hábito de ler desde os anos iniciais escolares. Buscam-se também analisar o papel da família e da escola na formação de um leitor crítico por meio da afetividade e motivação, como também as propostas de leitura em sala de aula. Acreditando-se que a leitura é uma ferramenta essencial na vida de qualquer pessoa, buscou-se a fundamentação teórica por meio de diversos textos, um apoio indispensável para esta proposta de trabalho.
