In this sense, it intends to highlight and to discuss on significant situations of teaching and learning that make possible or can favor the development and the enlargement of the communication and expression capacities and of the access to the literate world, through the oral and written language. Therefore, it is noticed the childhood education as favorable space to work the abilities related to the integral development of the child, once that the axis oral and written language enable the communicative action, the interaction and the construction of meanings starting from lived situations with the social environment and with the other, through the socialization, enlarging the cognitive and formative capacities of the child as a subject who thinks and acts actively, making possible, in this way, its insert and participation in different social practices. For the development of this work it was necessary a significant study of documental and bibliographical nature, action that provided the discussion on relevant and guiding aspects, that have to be considered in the pedagogic practice of the teacher in the extent of the childhood education, in the perspective of reaching a better acting in the teaching process and, consequently, in the children learning. A análise de uma determinada temática se faz mediante as abordagens que ela mesma apresenta e questiona. O presente artigo tem por finalidade principal realizar um estudo a partir de aspectos inerentes à aquisição e ao desenvolvimento da linguagem oral e escrita no contexto da Educação Infantil utilizando-se para isso da revisão bibliográfica. Nesse sentido, propõe destacar e discorrer sobre situações significativas de ensino e aprendizagem que possibilitem e/ou favoreçam o desenvolvimento e a ampliação das capacidades de comunicação, expressão e de acesso ao mundo letrado, por meio da linguagem oral e escrita. Logo, percebe-se a Educação Infantil como espaço favorável para trabalhar as habilidades relacionadas ao desenvolvimento integral da criança, visto que o eixo linguagem oral e escrita viabiliza o ato comunicativo, a interação e a construção de significados a partir de situações vivenciadas com o meio e com o outro, por meio da socialização, ampliando as capacidades cognitivas e formativas da criança enquanto sujeito que pensa e age ativamente, possibilitando, assim, sua inserção e participação nas diferentes práticas sociais.
