To achieve the desired objective, a descriptive method, based on a literature review covering the thought of the main theorists of both economic currents and finishing the job with a data analysis was used. After analyzing the theories and data in the following chapters, it is clear that currently our country is experiencing a fiscal policy of orthodox model and that government expenditures are much lower than those of other gestions presidential past, the principle does not justify setting size supervisor O presente trabalho tem o interesse de, a partir das correntes ortodoxas e heterodoxas, apresentar os conceitos das formas de condução da política fiscal na economia. Partindo dessa exposição, surgi uma pergunta: o que teria levado o governo a implementar o atual ajuste fiscal? Para se atingir o objetivo almejado, foi utilizado um método descritivo, embasado em uma revisão de literatura abrangendo o pensamento dos principais teóricos de ambas as correntes econômicas e finalizando o trabalho com uma análise de dados.
