The research project seeks storying industrialization as a result of import substitution policy through a bibliographic and documentary research, based on Brazilian literature, to substantiate this claim. For this appealed to the contribution of authors who dealt with the theme of import substitution, and the exploratory analysis of this process of substitution of products that did not require a high complexity in production. Este trabalho tem o objetivo de fazer uma análise histórica e bibliográfica da industrialização brasileira, no período de 1930 a 1955, descrevendo o processo histórico do primeiro Governo Vargas, durante o Estado Novo, até seu segundo Governo. A industrialização no Brasil ocorreu como resultado das substituições das importações de modo tardio e retardatário. O Brasil ainda era colônia, enquanto na Europa quase um século antes acontecia a primeira revolução industrial. No Brasil somente a partir de 1930, ocorre o início do processo de industrialização. O projeto de pesquisa busca historiar a industrialização como resultado de uma política de substituição das importações, através de uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, tendo como base a literatura brasileira, pra fundamentar essa afirmação.
