Resumo:Evasion in higher education is a topic that has gained the attention of several researchers and institutions, as it is a phenomenon that is difficult to explain, since for many researchers this phenomenon is multifaceted. The present work had as main objective to identify the impacts that has generated the SiSU, in the Course of Accounting Sciences, of the Campus Central Natal, of UFRN. To achieve this general objective, a documentary, descriptive and quantitative research was carried out, through a bibliographic survey and reports from quota students from the federal government's transparency portal and from quota students and broad competition from SIGAA, provided by UFRN, by through the Course Coordination. The sample object of research was 527 incoming and outgoing students, between the academic periods of 2014.1 and 2016.2, being 272 from the morning shift and 255 from the night shift, between men and women. As main results, it was observed that in the night shift the cancellation and program shutdown are higher than in the morning shift, respectively, with 94 and 130, and 238 and 287. Since in the morning, the cancellation happens more in the 1st period, while on the night shift during the first two periods. Locking, on the other hand, takes place in both shifts since the 2nd period over 3.5 and a half to 6 years. Given the above, it was concluded that evasion has its rates increased based on the impacts brought by SiSU, causing losses for both students, institutions and society, wasting investments for the training of new professionals, more qualified to work in the labor market, providing higher quality services.
