Resumo:Competitiveness is getting higher and higher, so managers need to be able to resist, generate results and stay on the market. In search for an outstanding differential for business, accounting is used as a relevant factor in the generation and supply of information on financial and economic aspects of the organization, helping its users (Administrators, Economists among other users) making decisions. This research aims to analyze the perception of undergraduates in the courses of Administration and Economic Sciences of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Regarding to the applicability of accounting knowledge taught in curricular accounting components for their professional carrers. The execution of the study had a quantitative approach and questionnaires were used as a data collection technique. The questionnaire was applied to the students of both courses who, for the most part, had already completed the curricular accounting components. The collected data were analyzed using the following techniques, Position Measures and Dispersion Measures. The results obtained in the research demonstrated that the students of Administration and Economic Sciences recognize the importance of the accounting for their careers and in the decision making for the business management. They also believe that this knowledge can be used as a differential in the labor market.
