Resumo:Tourist activity has been developing over time, and a sign of this are the various segmentations that have emerged in order to satisfy the different types of demand, which are increasingly exacting and willing to try new things and places different from the usual. An example of this is the appearance of dark tourism - which comes to increment even more the tourist scene - having as a destination environments where the dark is present, whether through places related to deaths, fanciful stories or myths, or even with some tragic historical fact. This research aims to analyze the potential of dark tourism and its possible attractions in the state of Rio Grande do Norte in Brazil, raising reports and historical data, categorizing and mapping them. The study is classified as descriptive and qualitative, with bibliographic and documental research. With the final results, it is expected that further discussions on the subject can be instigated, generating new knowledge regarding the subject.
