Resumo:Introduction: Technologies have been expanding change in various sectors and it would not be different in the tourism sector. With the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, new forms of technologies generated a need for modernity to minimize the impact that the virus brought to the tourism sector, where international tourist flows had a 22% drop during the pandemic, considering that for Brazil tourism represents 3.7% of its GDP. Objective: This study aims to characterize the perception of tourists on the impacts of the use of smart tourism technologies in tourist destinations during the covid-19 pandemic. For this purpose, we sought to: a) Identify the smart tourism technology tools that are used in tourist destinations during the covid-19 pandemic; b) Discuss the impacts of the use of smart tourism technology tools in tourist destinations during the Covid-19 pandemic. Methodology: An exploratory and bibliographic methodology is used, with a qualitative approach, making use of content analysis to discuss the results. Data collection was carried out through the application of six interviews with university students who had traveled during the period of the covid-19 pandemic using technology as tool for their travels, the Google Meet platform being the main means of conducting interviews. Conclusion: The results showed that the technologies were highly used for tourists in this pandemic context, having a great impact on tourism. Smart tourism technologies can help manage tourist destinations, making these destinations have a more innovative approach. Therefore, it is clear that the impacts of the use of smart tourism technology tools used in tourist destinations during the pandemic were significant, where these technologies allow new possibilities for tourism practice, as well as new possibilities for destinations to have a more assertive communication with tourists.
