Resumo:The aim of this work is to analyze three tanks in reinforced concrete. In each case, the flexural and tensile stresses were obtained by analytical methods and numerical method via the Finite Element Method (FEM) through the structural analysis program SAP2000®. From the obtained results, it was observed that the two models (analytical and numerical) showed very similar results for the cover slabs, while for the bottom slabs the numerical analysis was more economical. In the walls also a reduction of steel was observed for the numerical models in the vertical direction, whereas in the horizontal direction there were increases. It was verified that a steel increase occurred in all the slabs when the tensile stresses were considered. Finally, it was observed that flexo-tensile design was more economical than flexural and tensile design with the reinforcement superposition.
