| Resumo: | Globalization has caused, over the years, a considerable increase in the volume of air traffic in
Brazil, with a higher frequency of flights and aircraft becoming heavier. This results in a higher
demand for airport pavements, causing greater wear and, consequently, a need for more
frequent inspections and maintenance. One of the most important factors to be observed in the
situation of a pavement is its functional condition of its surface, which among other factors, is
related to the proper choice of materials and verification of the final parameters of the asphalt
mixture, so that the characterization of these materials and mixtures is crucial for the end result
to deliver the expected performance as well as an extended shelf life. This work deals with the
characterization of the materials and asphalt mixtures used in the recovery of the runway system
of an air base. |
