Resumo:With the increasing attention that the BIM (Building Information Modeling) is taking these days it is common to find new problems on this subject. By introducing the “cost” variable in BIM models, the productivity and assertiveness gains in material quantification are remarkable. Nevertheless, there are several technics to use the modeling tools associated with BIM, and the choice of practitioner by a particular work methodology must match the intended purpose of the project. In this context the present work aims to develop and analyze three different ways of modeling a building (modeling flows) using Autodesk Revit tool, through a case study in building located in Natal, Brazil. Limitations and advantages were found for each technique used as well as distinct quantitative for the three methodologies, which implies cost differences. The most appropriate modeling flow for the case study was that of separate layer modeling.
