description |
Building Information Modeling (BIM) enables the detection and anticipation of interferences in the projects early in the design phase and provides better organization, logistics and safe conditions for the construction. Occupational Health and Safety is a factor of significant importance in the distinct stages of construction and BIM models can be used, associated or not with other technologies, to guarantee on site construction safety. Therefore, the present work aims to characterize the bibliometric production of articles covering BIM related to Occupation Health and Safety to determine the publications distribution over the time; the most important countries, institutions and researchers; as well as listing topics taken as opportune for future works. Thus, a systematic mapping was developed limited to the years of 2007 e 2017. After applying the selection criteria, 166 articles were collected, they were organized in 9 categories. It was noted the recent nature of the publications, since more than 50% of them are concentrated in the last three years of the analysis. United States, Germany and China are the countries that have contributed the most with publications, together, they account for exactly half of the published articles. The most important institutions and researchers are also from these countries. It was identified that the categories named risk management, training, perceptions for using BIM for occupational health and safety, temporary structures and machines and equipment are the least covered themes in both congresses and journals, which means they are opportune themes for future works. Within the abovementioned categories, limitations and suggestions for future works were identified, showing specific topics as suggestions for developing new researches. |

The most important institutions and researchers are also from these countries. Within the abovementioned categories, limitations and suggestions for future works were identified, showing specific topics as suggestions for developing new researches.
