Resumo:The objective of this work is developing a computational code in the FORTRAN language capable of automatically designing sections of reinforced concrete columns to the ultimate limit state of normal stresses. The design is optimized to avoid the use of tables and other methods that can generate results against the safety of these elements, which are the most vital parts of a structure, always respecting the normative aspects of ABNT NBR 6118/2014. The calculation takes place through an iterative procedure due to the very nature of the problem. Results are presented via manual calculation through tables for the simpler sections such as rectangular and circular, and results of verifications obtained from the software CypeCAD 2018.j for the more complex sections, for which there were no tables in the literature, such as L-shaped, U-shaped, voided rectangular and circular crown, the results were then compared to those obtained in the program.
