description When it talks about people with special needs, it refers to the inclusion of these in the use of products, services and informations, with security and autonomy. In this way, there is a real concern about accessibility in firefighting installations. This work was developed with the purpose of verifying the existence of accessibility in the Code that refers to firefighting facilities in the State of Rio Grande do Norte. In this regard, it was performed a meticulous analysis in the Security Code and Prevention against Fire and Panic of Rio Grande do Norte State and Ordinance 191/2013 of Military Fire Department of Rio Grande do Norte State, the latter created to fill the existing gaps in the referred code . In addition, field visits were carried out in three types of buildings, in order to verify the application of these norms in firefighting facilities, as well as it was performed the application of a questionnaire to those with special needs, with the purpose of measuring the knowledge about this type of facility. After analysis of the state code, it was observed that the accessibility parameters are deficient, in addition it was verified that their application in the visited buildings is done in a partial way. Although 80% of interviewee claimed to know some type of firefighting device, about 60% assumed that they would not know how to act during an emergency. Therefore, it can be verified that there is only partial accessibility in the type of facility in question, so, there is an immediate need to review the Fire and Panic Safety and Prevention Code of Rio Grande do Norte State, regarding accessibility, as well as it is necessary more rigorous inspection by public agents.

Quando se fala sobre pessoas com necessidades especiais, refere-se à inclusão destas na utilização de produtos, serviços e informações, com segurança e autonomia. Desta forma, surge uma preocupação real com a acessibilidade nas instalações de combate a incêndio. Este trabalho foi desenvolvido com o objetivo de verificar a existência de acessibilidade no código que se refere às instalações de combate a incêndio no Estado do Rio Grande do Norte. Neste sentido, foi realizada uma análise minuciosa no Código de Segurança e Prevenção Contra Incêndio e Pânico do Estado do RN e na Portaria 191/2013 do Corpo de Bombeiros Militar do Rio Grande do Norte, esta última criada para suprir as lacunas existentes no referido código. De forma complementar, foram realizadas visitas de campo em três tipos de edificação, a fim de verificar a aplicação destas normas nas instalações de combate a incêndio, como também realizou-se aplicação de questionário junto aos portadores de necessidades especiais, com o propósito de mensurar o conhecimento sobre este tipo de instalação. Após análise do código estadual, observou-se que os parâmetros de acessibilidade são deficientes, além disso verificou-se que sua aplicação nas edificações visitadas é feita de forma parcial. Apesar de 80% dos entrevistados alegarem conhecer algum tipo de dispositivo de combate a incêndio, cerca de 60% assumiram que não saberiam agir durante uma situação de emergência.
