In this way, this paper shows a comparison of prices between the green roof and the colonial roof, in order to perceive the direct costs involved in the application of these coverages and to evaluate the financial viability of the green roofs. For this, a reference house was modeled and two configurations of green roofs and a colonial roof were applied. Based on the quantity of material used and its market price, a budget was obtained for each cover. As a result, the green coverage became cheaper. The main reason is due to the arrangement of the roofs, in which the green roofs were arranged with a slope of 2% in a system that made it possible to dispense eaves, while the colonial tiles were laid with a slope of 30% and eaves, resulting in a much higher area. Therefore, it is concluded that the application of the green roof is feasible, depending on the system to be adopted. Os telhados verdes estão começando a ganhar visibilidade no mundo moderno, porém no meio técnico ainda persiste a dúvida da viabilidade financeira para aplicação deste tipo de cobertura. Dessa maneira, este trabalho mostra uma comparação de preços entre o telhado verde e o telhado colonial, com objetivo de perceber os custos diretos envolvidos na aplicação dessas coberturas e avaliar a viabilidade financeira dos telhados verdes. Para isso, modelou-se uma casa referência e aplicou-se duas configurações de telhados verdes e uma cobertura colonial. Com base no quantitativo de material utilizado e seu preço de mercado, obteve-se um orçamento de cada cobertura. Como resultado, a cobertura verde ficou mais barata. O principal motivo se deve à disposição das coberturas, em que os telhados verdes foram dispostos com inclinação de 2% em um sistema que possibilitou dispensar beiral, enquanto as telhas coloniais foram dispostas com inclinação de 30% e com beiral, resultando numa área bem superior.
