A numerical study of the problem was developed and used as a base to a computational code that was developed in Fortran language to be capable of simulating the structural behavior of beams through the aforementioned theory. In order to validate the computational code, the results obtained through the analytical solutions of the Timoshenko Beam Theory were compared with the numerical results, which were also compared with the results of the analytical solutions obtained through the Euler-Bernoulli Beam Theory, highlighting the differences between the two theories. Este trabalho tem como intuito analisar estaticamente o comportamento estrutural de vigas em regime elástico linear, pelo Método dos Elementos Finitos (MEF), com base na Teoria de Vigas de Timoshenko. Desenvolveu-se a formulação numérica do problema, e, em seguida, elaborou-se um código computacional, na linguagem Fortran, capaz de simular o comportamento estrutural das vigas, através da teoria supracitada.
