Initially, an analytical assessment was performed which considers the visit wells without the presence of a containment structure and thus determined the area adjacent to the excavation that could be impacted by the excavation. Still without considering the presence of any containment structure, in addition to the analytical determination of the area of influence, the respective area was also determined from two-dimensional numerical analyzes performed with the OptumCE software, which has a mathematical routine based on the Finite Element Method (FEM). The next stage of this study was contemplated with the proposal of installing curtain-type retaining structures for the depth of 5 meters and, once again, the impact of the excavation was evaluated, now with the presence of a containment structure in the areas adjacent to the visit wells. Therefore, it generated the selection of the results and conclusions obtained. The work concludes, therefore, the convergence or not of the methods and results analyzed, in addition, it also compares the pile curtain configurations considered for excavation with a depth of five meters, in view of the effectiveness in limiting horizontal displacements. O presente estudo tem como objetivo avaliar o impacto na vizinhança causado pela escavação de poços de visita com até 15 metros de profundidade, para viabilizar a instalação de sistema de drenagem em perímetro urbano na cidade de Natal/RN. Inicialmente, foi realizada uma avaliação analítica a qual considera os poços de visita sem a presença de uma estrutura de contenção e assim determinou-se a área adjacente à escavação que poderia ser impactada pela escavação. Ainda sem considerar a presença de qualquer estrutura de contenção, além da determinação analítica da área de influência, a respectiva área também foi determinada a partir de análises numéricas bidimensionais realizadas com o Software OptumCE, o qual tem rotina matemática baseada no Método dos Elementos Finitos (MEF). A etapa seguinte deste trabalho foi contemplada com a proposição da instalação de estruturas de contenção para a profundidade de 5 metros, do tipo cortina de estacas e, mais uma vez foi avaliado o impacto de escavação, agora com a presença de estrutura de contenção nas áreas adjacentes aos poços de visita. Sob esse viés, gerou a compilação dos resultados e as conclusões obtidas.
