These changes are felt in the family organization, feminine protagonism area, where the social project of binary genders receive their first traces. Marriage receives new designs, crosses solubility, and achieves new configurations. In this scenery, it is assumed that women take the reins of their destiny moving through the possibility of elaborating choices. This study aimed to find the degree of real changes in the lives of the women who live in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Hence, an ethnography of the flow of women in the public space, in festas baile, was done, plus a research in which speeches and reports were analyzed in a qualitative way, basing, theoretically, in authors as Berenice Bento (2012), Angela M. de Almeida (et al 1987), Pierre Bourdieu (2014). Although the research has shown that women are encountered in new times and are experimenting new interaction forms, it also has shown some ambiguities, since unmarried women from Natal are leaving home seeking for amusements that were traditionally for men, but the same women are hesitant in having this experience of new reality to the fullest. O mundo social tem sido palco de muitas transformações, principalmente, aquelas concernentes à mulher, que ao ampliar seus espaços de atuação, também é despertada a ampliar seus pleitos no campo da subjetividade. Essas mudanças mostram-se sentidas na instituição da família, seara de protagonismo feminino, em que o projeto social dos gêneros binários e biologizados recebe seus primeiros traços. O casamento, por sua vez, ganha novos delineamentos, atravessando a dissolubilidade, alcançando novas modalidades de configuração. Nesse cenário de transformações supõe-se que a mulher toma as rédeas de seu destino, movendo-se pelas novas possibilidades de elaborar escolhas. Este trabalho teve por objetivo pesquisar o grau de concretude dessas alterações na vida de mulheres descasadas na cidade de Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brasil. Para tanto, foi realizada uma etnografia do fluxo de tais mulheres no espaço da “rua”, em festas baile, somada à pesquisa participante, em que os relatos e falas de partícipes da festa foram analisados de forma qualitativa, fundamentando-se em autoras e autores como, Berenice Bento (2012), Angela M. Almeida (et al 1987), Pierre Bourdieu (2014), dentre outros.
