This study aims to analyze fragments of the life histories of women imprisoned in the Dr. João Chaves Penal Complex. In order to contextualize a research, it was necessary to make a brief explanation about the history of imprisonment of penalties and the problem of female criminality, which affirms an androcentric orientation guiding the actions of repressive institutions. The ethnographic study, which brings up the principle of human dignity as an analytical category of human rights, focuses on the actions of the analyzed institution in the area of health, sexual law, execution of sentences and the legal and social assistance of women who are imprisoned. The research was carried out through ethnographic analysis, obtained through the author's participant experience in the field of study. In-depth and bibliographic analysis of texts that identify with the issue were incorporated. As a result, I found in most of the analyzed life itineraries the common factor the type of crime committed, which in most cases are illicit drug trafficking, their common experience of having their rights denied by the State/ Institutions/society, such as the right to maternity, health, education and the deep experience of a loneliness based on a social structure which is racist, classist and misogynist. Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar fragmentos da história de vidas de mulheres aprisionadas no Complexo Penal Dr. João Chaves. Para contextualizar a pesquisa, se fez necessário fazer uma breve explanação sobre o histórico da prisão, das formas de penas e da criminalidade feminina, que afirma a orientação e ótica masculinas como norteadoras das ações de instituições de controle de androcentrismo. O estudo etnográfico, que traz o princípio da dignidade humana como uma categoria analítica dos direitos humanos, focaliza nas ações da instituição analisada referente a área da saúde, o direito sexual, a execução da pena, a assistência jurídica e social das mulheres que estão presas. A pesquisa foi realizada por meio de observações etnográficas registradas por meio da experiência participante da autora no campo de estudo. Foram realizadas entrevistas em profundidade e análise bibliográfica de textos que se referem à temática abordada. Como resultado, encontrei na maioria dos itinerários de vida analisados o fator comum e o tipo de delito cometido, que em sua maioria são tráfico de drogas ilícitas.
