description |
The molybdates doped with rare earth ions are widely studied due to its huge
potential in practice applications in photocatalysis, cathode ray tubes, plasma panels
displays, lasers, and others. It’s important to consider that these nanostructured
materials exhibit unique properties in the function of the large surface area and its
reduced size. In this work, ZnMoO4: Tb3+, Pr3+ particles were synthesized in different
proportions of Tb: Pr (2: 0, 1,5: 0,5, 1: 1, 0,5: 1,5 e 0: 2) through the sonochemical
method. They were characterized by the structure, morphology, photocatalytic and
photoluminescent properties through the respective analysis: x-ray diffraction, field
emission scanning electron microscopy, UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, and
photoluminescence. According to the photoluminescence results, the emission spectra
presents the transition bands of 5D4 → 7Fj (j = 6, 5, 4 e 3) by the Tb3+, along the 3P0 →
3H5,
1D2 → 3H4,
3P0 → 3H6 e 3P0 → 3F3 by the Pr3+ ions. The time-resolved
photoluminescence was investigated, with a longer lifetime value for the ZnMoO4: 2%
Tb3+ sample ( av = 1.0344 ms). The energy transference mechanism between the host
matrix and the rare earth ions was proposed, and the efficiency (n) of it as well. The
sample’s photocatalytic activity was studied, verifying a beneficial effect by the
introduction of Pr3+ in the ZnMoO4 lattice on the degradation of methylene blue dye.
Within this context, this work is about the development of photoluminescent materials
capable of converting UV in visible light, which could be adjusted by the combination
of the dopant to produce white light for LED applications. Beside this perspective, it
was also evaluated the photocatalytic behavior of the ZnMoO4: Tb3+, Pr3+, considering
the distortion effect caused by the dopants in the zinc molybdate lattice. |

Within this context, this work is about the development of photoluminescent materials capable of converting UV in visible light, which could be adjusted by the combination of the dopant to produce white light for LED applications. Beside this perspective, it was also evaluated the photocatalytic behavior of the ZnMoO4: Tb3+, Pr3+, considering the distortion effect caused by the dopants in the zinc molybdate lattice. 2019-06-17T12:37:45Z 2021-09-29T13:23:24Z 2019-06-17T12:37:45Z 2021-09-29T13:23:24Z 2019 bachelorThesis 20170184310 FERNANDES, Yuri Leandro Rodrigues Lopes.
