Resumo:A report issued by the World Health Organization in 2019 notifies that we have around 2.2 billion people world-wide who suffers from some kind of visual disabilitie. This community faces daily difficulties in consuming basic print information. Considering this fact, the idea is to create an assistive technology developing a two-dimensional barcode (QR Code), integrated to an audio data and acknowledged by mobile devices, printed with embossing markers as a solution for this community on information accessibility. In this scenario, this project aims to executes a comparative between embossed markers, engineered in ABS polymer and photopolymer resin, manufactured using additive manufacturing techniques. The parallel elaborate on by comparing features of the two designed sample relative to its applicability performance, durability, mechanical behavior, cost-effectiveness and user-friendly interface. The project will also take into account the qualitative research made with a group of visually impaired students from The Institute of Education and Blind Rehabilitation of Rio Grande do Norte. As an example, the implementation of informative totems available on selected tourist points, managed by the Natal City Hall is discussed, emphasizing the choosing process for the best material used for the situation. In conclusion, is proposed the device application in consumer goods packaging.
