Resumo:With the emergence of the information society and the rise of exponentially increasing Information and Communication Technologies, the present society creates a new environment to relate called cyberspace, and also the emergence of cyberculture from the environment in which they operate, producing and making more and more content available, so that information is caused to them. Thus, strategies are needed to facilitate information filtering. With this comes a new professional concept, where information professionals can enter and act directly in this context offering curation services so that users and organizations can have access to selected information according to their needs. The main objective of the research is to understand the need for curatorship and how the information professional, using their skills and competences, can act in this new aspect. Its specific objectives are to understand the phenomenon of information anxiety, differentiate information society and society. knowledge and verify access to information technologies in the national territory. Using bibliographic research to understand various views on the topic addressed, performing searches in various databases, and the use of books and other information that address the topic. Therefore it was noted that the information professional can act as informational curator, performing it correctly.
