Resumo:The artificial lift methods are increasingly being used over the years, it can be applied even in young wells that are called “flowing wells” as in wells that already had a significant pressure decay and need enhanced oil recovery methods to flow the oil to the surface. Among these techniques there is the sucker rod pumping system, being one of the most used methods in the world, it is extremely important to optimize and maximize its production potential. The oil production through this method consists of the alternative movements of rods that will activate the pump, providing he additional energy required to lift the produced fluid. The present work has as main objective to analyze the operational parameters that may affect the volumetric efficiency of the pump, allowing the engineer to take the best decisions for the dimensioning of his project. The study of these parameters was made using the Visual Basics for Applications (VBA) tool available on Excel, through a program capable of estimate the changes of the volumetric displacement of the pump and modify any of these input parameters.
